Dear teacher:
I heard this phrase "put you on the map" which means that everyone knows you. Is it correct? if not, what's the exactly meaning?

Basically, yes. You become famous so that everyone has heard of you or knows about you.
Think of it this way: the world of full of small places that only a few people know about. But if lots of people hear about one for some famous thing, people will want to visit, so map makers will add it to their maps of that area. |
