1.What does 'go to the lengths of attacking' mean?
2.And also can I use it 'go the length of attacking', or 'go to great lengths to attact', or 'go to some lengths to attact' in the same meaning?
Thanks. |

They are willing to take extreme action, including attacking the whaling ships.

No. It changes the grammar.
Basically:
go to great lengths to goal.
go to the great length of process to reach the goal.
For example:
I am willing to go to great lengths to get good grades.
I am willing to go to the great length of studying every weekend. |
