Hello,
My question is ....
Michael (Jordan) could not take shots, because three people were guarding him."
In this context, 'take shots" means "score points"? or just "shooting the ball to get points"?

Hello Sabrina K. -
'take shots' = shoot (throw) the ball in an attempt to score points
(even Michael 'Air' Jordan missed the hoop occasionally)
in your example...due to the fact that he was so heavily guarded, he was denied the opportunity to even try to score points. Philo |
