Dear teacher Smile :

I watched the desperate housewives.
a old man was faint because of heart attack, after he woke up, he said "sorry if I spooked you" to the woman who call 911 to save his life.

what "to spook sb" means?

Thank you a lot

It means to frighten, scare, startle.

A spook is a ghost or some other scary thing that frightens people. When you are spooked, you are startled by something--maybe a spook, maybe just something unexpected. If you think I am about to die, you might be afraid, so I might say sorry for scaring you.
