Do they mean the same thing?

Does it mean "financial support" in this case?

Miniskirts are the trend these days
or
Miniskirts is the trend these days

1. Yes. Although actually everything you see, hear, smell, taste, etc. is a sensation, the term sensation-seeker means a person who seeks extreme sensations, thrills; and so does thrill-seeker
.

2. Yes.

3. Miniskirts are the trend these days is the way I think most people would express it.
