Hi,
1.Which of the following sentences is correct?
2. If none of them is correct, what is the natural and correct sentence for this idea?
3. Is 'change' here as a 'noun' natural to native English speaker? Should it be changed to 'changing' instead?
A. Design and specifications subject to change without notice
B. Design and specifications are subjet to change without notice.
C. Design and specifications are subjected to change without notice
Thank you very much for your help. _________________ Less Is Blessed |

A. Design and specifications subject to change without notice. Correct as a shorthand written disclaimer, not as a spoken sentence. Means they could be changed at any time without warning to the consumer, and without any fault on the supplier. Use "change," not "changing."
B. Design and specifications are subject to change without notice. Correct as a written or spoken disclaimer. If spoken, probably add "the" at the beginning.
C. Design and specifications are subjected to change without notice. Correct only if you mean to say that the designs and specs are forced to be changed without notice, which is not likely. Stick with A. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
