sorry, I can't resist.... this may not make any sense .. Smile

The difference between Asian and Western cultures is that in theory they are different, in reality they are not Razz.

The question is too broad, do you mean United States, Europe, West Virginia? By Asian do you mean Japan, korea, or China? I'm sure one can find a town in the United States somewhere that is eerily similar to one in China.

I've actually always hated the concept of "culture." There are so many differences between two people who attend the same church, let alone any larger set. I think one is simplifying the world too much and trying to separate people when they define culture. To me it's an illusion, so you won't ever get an answer out of me. Razz

Rolling Eyes
'Culture' is a very general word. Either it was at west or asian, everybody had their own culture. When we want to talk abut the differential between it, I think it was unfair.

As Asian people, I think that asean culture wast the best. but I not saying that the western culture is bad. I believe that they also think their culture is the best. Razz

i think the big different between Asian Culture and Western culture is the mind setting. we mostly saying that Western's people are open-mind's people but the Asia's people always keep tradisional. the asian's people are very shy to express theirselves to other people but the western's people are willing to do it.

I agree with James. but there is a goodness about the asian people keep their traditionals.

as I realized that their act would save their culture from lost. thru this modern worlds. people can easily change. As for example, we can see in our country itselves, Malaysia. in the big city like KL, most of the youngers don't know some of their tradition.

hey.. talk about the topic laa.. Razz

HI averyone! Mr. Green

let see... generally speaking, obviously Asian countries and Western country got culture of their own. As for me, most asians still practice their culture more than westeners. Although western culture are slowly penetrating in Asian minds, but they still didn't throw away their own way of life and still celebrating their own festivals.

It's not a wrong to learn about other culture, but to know who we are and where we from will make us feel more proud of ourselves as we have our own identity of life. Wink Daaa...

Well, In my opinion, God create human being with thier own culture has God's own purpose. We should appreciate and be thanks GOD to give us the chances and opportunity to learn with each others' culture. Cool

It was also an era of intense interaction between the peoples of many continents and nations: the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

A culture in which the belief in the ultimate value of the human individual, the belief that individuals are the ultimate sources of truth, value and political authority, is a dominant and pervasive cultural theme. It is a culture in which plurality, diversity, and creation of new cultural themes and traditions are not only tolerated but encouraged. It is a culture which places the highest premium on the creativity of individuals and groups. These tendencies would seem centripetal and anarchic, except that democratic culture is above all a culture of communication. Smile
Don't you agreed?

Further, from Europe to western Asia, archaeological remains tell us about hunting, tool manufacture, and artistic expression. Many of the foundations of "western" cultures developed in these regions.

May be you can give me some opinion about it. Smile
