| Surrogate mothers are usually young, healthy females who are able to conceive. They agree to carry the baby of another couple to term in exchange for a financial sum. |
Does "to term in exchange for" make sense?
For me, "under the terms of exchange for" is correct instead.
Could you tell me if my opinion is right?
Thanks. |

If you just isolate those four words it doesn't make sense.
Sometimes you perform a service and in exchange for performing this service you get money.
In this example, a surrogate mother is carrying a child to term. (until the child is born). |
