1.I'd like to urinate.
2.I'd like to piss.
3.I'd like to defecate.
4.I'd like to shoot.
5.I'd like to poop. |
According to my dictionary, #1 is equal to #2. And #3 is the same as #4 or #5.
But I think that 'shoot' has an offensive meaning. In reality, in native speakers' country, what sentences can I use not having my expression offensive?
Thanks. |

1. I'd like to urinate. The technical term for excreting fluid, perfectly acceptable to say or write in any context.
2. I'd like to piss. A common, rather crude way to say urinate, not really for saying in polite company. Can say pee instead, usually acceptable in any context. (I think the word pee started out as the letter P, to stand for piss, but maybe others know more about this.) Also can say wee-wee or pee-pee, baby talk for urinate, or number one, as in, I have to go number one.
3. I'd like to defecate. The technical term for excreting, perfectly acceptable to say or write in any context.
4. I'd like to shoot. No one says this, except to mean firing a gun or taking pictures. Maybe you meant to say s h i t, rather than shoot. In that case, it is the crude way to say defecate, and even less acceptable in polite company than piss is. Can say go poo, go poo-poo, go poop, go number two instead.
5.I'd like to poop. All right, as just mentioned.
You can always just say, I need to use the restroom / washroom / bathroom. No one else needs to know whether it's number one, number two, or just washing your hands and admiring yourself in the mirror. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
