Hi,

Just read an expression, and was wondering if I guessed it right.

What does "Sour me! Ouch!" mean?

Thanks in advance.

Can you give more of the context?

It is from the very first begining of a song, Untogether, by Belly.
Part of the lyrics goes like:
Quote:
Sour Me. Ouch!
I was friendly with this girl,
Who insisted on touching my face.
She told outrageous stories.
I believed them 'til the endings
Were changing from endings before.
She's not touching me anymore.
Untogether, I couldn't help her I got hard.
You can try your life.
You can't save the unsavably untogether.

My first guess was that 'sour me' means that the speaker's remakrs were kind of sarcastic, but I was not sure of it.
By the way, what does 'not touching me anymore' mean?
Does it mean:She and "I" are not close to each other anymore. ?
Or, does it mean: Her stories can't make me feel touched anymore?

Thank you for your help!

Leslie

The writer is using poetic license. The verb to sour, used in this context, means to give someone a bad experience so their opinion about something changes from good to bad.
For example:
Our encounter with drunk violent lads stumbling along the streets has soured me on the idea of going pub crawling at night. I think I'll just stay home instead.
Getting caught up in a riot has soured me on attending live football matches. I'll just watch them on TV from now on.

So the writer is using "sour me" as an imperative expression in a way I've not seen before. His experience with the girl in the song has soured him on the girl. "Ouch!" is just an added exclamation to show his pain from his experience.

I think it means literally touch with her fingers. In line 3, she "insisted on touching my face" which I take to mean affectionately caress with her hands or fingers. "She's not touching me anymore," could mean she is not showing him physical affection anymore.
