| In addition, the agency may be able to provide more services than you could obtain yourself. |
Is the quote correct?
I think that it is right that 'In addition, the agency may be able to provide more services than what you could obtain yourself.' rather than the quote because a transitive verb 'obtain' needs a object 'what'.
Could you tell me if I'm wrong.
Thanks. |

The quote is fine. In that sentence, the "what" is understood and omitted to make the sentence more simple. Such pronouns in relative clauses are often dropped in colloquial English. _________________ "It is impossible to speak in such a way that you cannot be misunderstood." -- Karl Popper |
