I want to know the exact meaning of "board" in the following sentences.
--------- the following ----------
Peter tiptoed towards his brother Frank's hiding place. ------ He felt as if a host of cautious feet were moving in his direction from a distance. But fortunately nobody showed up. On bare feet he moved unerringly towards the wall behind which his brother was hiding. No more boards revealed his progress. Instinct told him he was near the wall, and ---

Hi Jays,

It probably means floor boards, or hardwood floors. Old hardwood floors tend to squeak as you walk on them; thereby, revealing your presence. But on barefoot, you would be less noticeable.
