Is the second sentence wrong?

Yes, it is.
The reason is that 'a picture book' has to be a part of the clause after 'that'. In the first sentence, it is as in 'the sentences of the picture book'. It does not work in the second.
It is you that I am mad at.
This sentence states that I am mad at you. In order to emphasize or focus on 'you', a grammatical structure, it ~ that (a cleft structure), is used. |
