His anger appeared on his face.
Are these sentences acceptable?

I'm OK understanding them and I can't see anything wrong with them but I wouldn't use them myself. "One could see he was angry", "His anger showed (on his face)." , "He looked angry." would be my choices but then a lot also depends on the surrounding language.
