Hello,
Is 'got' an informal way of saying 'received' here? Can we also say 'early the morning' instead of "early that morning" here?
"Early that morning, I received/got a phone call from Jane.

Yes, got is the same meaning as received. You can't say early the morning but you could say early in the morning if which morning is understood. |
