What is "closed mouth fish"?
It doesn't sound the name of a particular fish...

You are correct, it is not a particular type of fish such as a Large Mouth Bass. It could simply be a fish with its mouth closed. I've read that some sports fishermen use it to describe a fish that was not in a feeding mode (not eating at the moment, not attracted to any bait).
