What is "editorial fiction"? Does it appear on editorial page?
I have no idea but I have to know.

Yes, an editorial is published on the editorial page and intentionally expresses the view(s) of those in control of the publication on matters of current interest.
The 'fiction' refers to an intentional fabrication and/or a convenient assumption presented in the editorial which disregards known facts in order to achieve an immediate goal.
Or worse...the 'fiction' may be an unfounded, invented or deceitful statement intended to mislead the reader.
