1. The Danes had self-confidence of conquerors, and their security precautions were _____.
A. casual B. random
I think both of them are OK? AM i right?
2. I love her all the more ______ she is poor.
Could I fill "although"?
3. To understand the grammar of the sentence, you must break it ____ into parts.
A. up B. down
Again, i think both answers are right, since both have the meaning of separating something into smaller parts.
Am i right?

Yes, both are okay depending on the situation. If their defenses were here and there, but not well coordinated, then you can say random. If their defenses were spaced regularly but were poorly staffed, then they were casual.

No. All the more indicates a cause and effect, so you should use because. However, if you have another sentence that gives the cause, then you can use although. For example:
Her family does not have much money, but she still carries herself with the quiet dignity of a kind and understanding heart. I love her all the more, although she is poor.

Both would be understood, yes. Though if you want to nit-pick, they do mean something slightly different.
Break up implies that the smaller parts are sort of random.
E.g. The damaged ship broke up as it sank.
However, break down implies that the smaller parts are kept organized (so you can put them together again).
E.g. I spent all day yesterday breaking down the engine to find the cracked seal that was causing me all that trouble. _________________ "It is impossible to speak in such a way that you cannot be misunderstood." -- Karl Popper |
