# 1. Can "spend' after "usedn't to" be omitted?
# 2. Can "be" after "usedn't to" be omitted?
# 3. Can "be" after "used to" be omitted?

The negative of used to is not usedn't to. Change the sentences to:

1. He spends much money nowadays, but he never used to.
2. He is very polite now, but he used to be impolite / but he didn't use to be / but he never used to be.
2. He is more polite than he used to be.
