The next day dad pulled out his childhood pictures and told me quite a few stories about his own childhood. Although our times together became easier over the years, I never felt closer to him at that moment. After so many years, Im at last seeing another side of my father. And in so doing, Im delighted with my new friend. My dad, in his new home in Arizona, is back to me from where he was.
Could you paraphrase the last sentence " My dad, in his new home in Arizona, is back to me from where he was"?

| It sounds like the author had a difficult relationship with his or her father, but something happened and the relationship began to improve. The father showed the author some old photographs and told some stories, and the author felt close to him. It was almost like the father was a different person before. So for the author, it was like her father had 'gone away' before and somebody else was left in his place, somebody who was very different. And then, while she was with him in his new home in Arizona, looking at pictures and enjoying his company, the person who had 'gone away' came back. |
