I know that #1 is correct.
But I am not sure if #2 throgh #4 is correct.

2 and 4 are correct. 3 is incorrect unless you add a comma after "best".
5 is generally incorrect, though there may be some situations where you can treat 1 through 5 as a collective noun (I can't think of any off the top of my head).
