Dear teacher, please tell me where the following dentences go wrong.

1. I let / make / have the door washed.
2. I let / make / have the door be washed.

let / make / have + O. + infinitive without to
"be" can be left out without changing the meaning, can't it?

3. The tape on the window can keep the window from being broken.
4. The tape on the window can keep the window from breaking."

Which sentence is correct? Why?

5. In / On that evening, we enjoy watching a ball game.
6. In / On the evening, we enjoy watching a ball game.

Which preposition is correct? Why?

1. I have the door washed means I get someone else to wash the door. If I did it in the past, I would say, I had the door washed [by the door washer]. None of the other choices would be correct.

2. I let the door be washed means I permitted the door to be washed, I allowed someone to wash the door. None of the other choices would be correct.

3. The tape on the window can keep the window from being broken. OK.

4. The tape on the window can keep the window from breaking. OK.


5. On that evening, we enjoyed [not enjoy] watching a ball game. It was a one-time event.

6. In the evening, we enjoy watching a ball game. We do it often.
