I understand "the 60th parallel" means "the 60th parallel of latitude." Then in case of longitude can we still use parallel?

Canada's territories--the Yukon Territory, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut--have fewer powers than the provinces. They're also all north of the 60th parallel。

A line of longitude is referred to as a meridian rather than a parallel

And meridians should not be called parallels because they are not parallel to each other. They meet at the poles and circle the globe, with their farthest distance from one another at the equator.
