Hello teachers,
Quote: |
Cherie, who had recently turned eighteen, was behind a glass wall that separated the recording area from the control room. She was singing "pickups" - the bits of the song in which the vocal needed work. Most of the pickups were the "U" sounds, where Cherie sounded most French. |
Could you tell me the meaning of the word "pickups" in more detail? Though I consulted a dictionary I didn't understand.
Thanks in advance. |

After the song or commercial or movie scene is recorded, the singer or actor sometimes has to go back into the studio to record words or singing to be added into the sound track. The original might have been too weak, or off key, or maybe even the wrong word, so the person records the part over again and that is used in the record or movie. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
