In the end means "finally".
At the end means at the extremity, e.g. At the end of the road there was a police station. Go back to the end of the line and wait your turn! At the end of his life he went to live in France.
Ernest Hemingway suffered from depression that he called "the black dog".
In the end he shot himself. |
