Hello,
These days, I have planned to go to UK and for a Master degree, that related to business management. However, I'm completely confused and can not decided which university I should go to. For there are two different good uni ranking lists, with far more different order or content, provided by the Times and the Guardian. Considering the entry standard and living cost, I have picked up some uni and listed below.list:
1. St Andrews
2. Bristol
3. Durham
4. Bath
5. Loughborough
6. Edingbough
7. Southamptom
8. Astom
9. York
10.Leicester
11.Sheffield
12.Newcastle
13.Birmingham
14.Manchester
15.Leeds
16.Liverpool
And I would like you native or well-educated people to help me reorder this list by depute according your opinion so that it could help me to decide. I don't care whether it is the fact because there appears not fact at all. However, your personal view will be apprieciated. That helps. Thank you. |

Well, your profile says you are from Shanghai. If you are planning to get your education in UK and return to Shanghai to work, then I would recommend going to the school that is the best known in Shanghai. If you are planning to go work somewhere else, then select the school that is best known there. It may not be the best of the lot -- and I don't know which of your list are better or worse -- but it will be the one that helps you the most in getting a good job.
It is better for you to go to the best school you can get into, of course, and I would recommend that you do that, if it made no difference to your future success. But the sad truth is that a good education from an unknown school (unknown to the people who will consider hiring you, at least) is not as valuable for your career as a mediocre education from a well-known school. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
