While reading a novel, I came across this expression:
He had a very British-British accent...
Why is "British" repeated? Is this just for emphasis? |

I would say that is the intention.
However, Great Britain consists of England, Scotland and Wales. Within those three entities there is a variety of different accents, so it doesn't really make much sense. |
