You subscribe to and invest in.
So: I subscribe to a variety of magazines
In your second example I would say I invest money in subscribing to a variety of magazines.
I suppose that this is an exercise you have been set, but invest is not really the right word, in this case.
When you invest, you usually put money in shares, property, or a financial scheme from which you expect some profit.
When you subscribe to a magazine you are really buying, say, a year's worth of copies of that magazine. |
