(1)to prepare some chemicals
(2)to prepare for battle
(3)to prepare the meal
(4)to prepare for the meal
The use of prepositions is very confusing.
How can I determine whether to use the preposition after the verb?
Is there any difference between (3) and(4)?
I'd appreciate your help. |

1. to prepare some chemicals = to get the chemicals ready
2. to prepare for battle = to get [oneself] ready for the battle
3. to prepare the meal = to get the meal ready
4. to prepare for the meal = to get [oneself] ready to eat the meal
The teacher prepares the exam, and the student prepares for the exam. That is the difference. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
