Quote: |
I had my shoes shined for the interview. |
Which one does the quote mean
'I had my shoes shined for the interview by me.' or
'I had my shoes shined for the interview by someone.' ?
Thanks. |

He / She had the shoes shined by someone else. Otherwise, it would be, "I shined my shoes for the interview." _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |

The second one is correct. Whenever you have a sentence like this:
Noun/Pronoun +to have (or any form of the verb) + possessive noun/pronoun +verb
and that last verb is some sort of service, it means that someone else performed the action of that verb. |
