Before I start, I must tell you that love foreign languages and these are some of the experiences I have encountered with learners of English. If you have any input, whether it positive or negative, voice your option.
Why cant I speak English fluently? I heard this question many times from ESL students. The fact is that no one took the time to teach you the simple techniques for a simple conversation in English. It is the ultimate dream of every ESL learner to speak English fluently. If you seriously want to become a fluent English speaker you have to change some of your attitudes about English. I am going to explain why you are having problems improving your speaking skills.
ESL learners always complained, I am very shy. to English is very difficult. to I am very busy. to "people will laugh at me if I make mistakes". Sounds familiar? All this may be true, but in the end, they are all excuses. These excuses dont explain anything. These excuses dont turn your failure into success. These excuses cannot help you to speak English.
After years of English classes, tests, access to native speakers, hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars spent you still cant speak English, much less to become fluent. But why? Simply put, you cant speak English because you dont speak English!
Sure, you spend a lot of time studying English, listening to it, writing it, reading it, taking examinations, learning words, verb lists and reciting it, but how often do you really speak English? How often you make English your own language with your own ideas and feelings? Unfortunately, the answer is not often.
English teachers often forget that there is a big difference between saying something in English and speaking English. You memorize and practice English sentences, but that doesnt mean the you can speak English. You have done this practice for years and still you cannot speak English.
English teachers must ask themselves a difficult question: Do they teach students to say things in English, or do they teach ESL learners to actually speak the English naturally and fluently? So, how do teachers make ESL learners successful? Simple, they have to make ESL learners speak English. ESL teachers must teach students how to use the simple techniques to become fluent. _________________ english fluency (www.powertutorials-on-skype.com) |
