Is it make sense, "How long have our ancesors developed animism?"
It seems akward to me because 'ancestors' and 'present perfect tense' don't match each other, but I don't know how to change this sentence. Please help me. |

You are correct in noticing that "How long" and the present perfect tense generally refer to something that is still ongoing. "How long have you been here?" "How long has this been going on?"
I don't quite understand what you want to say, but see if any of these make sense or can be changed to give your meaning:
How long did it take our ancestors to develop animism?
How long did our ancestors spend developing animism?
How long did it take for animism to fully develop? |
