Would a native accept:
After she became a nun she went to India.
or must it be: After she had become a nun she went to India
Please tell me if the first version (past tense) is totally wrong or not.

In casual conversation, you could say the first sentence. In class, or in formal writing, you would want to use the past perfect as in the second sentence. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
