Post season is after the regular season of 162 games, when the playoff games are played, ending in the seven-game World Series to determine the world champion of baseball.
Flying by the seat of one's pants means flying an airplane without any help from instruments -- the way it was done in the early days of aviation -- and by analogy, it means doing something without any help.
