Could you please help me with the following sentences? Which one is correct?

Milk is an excellent source of nutrients.

Milk is an excellent source of nutrient.

If you check your English dictionary, I believe you'll find that "nutrient" is a count noun. Since there are many nutrients in milk, the plural is required.
