Shake a leg!

According to my dictionary, 'shake a leg' is something that you say in order to tell people to hurry up and it is old-fashioned.

So, I wonder it is used among young native speakers these days.

Please tell me.

Thanks.

Hi Chan-Sueng Lee

'Shake a leg' is quite an old fashioned idiom (it's the sort of thing my grandfather would say), I don't think many young people would use it but it might depend on which culture you are from. However, most people, certainly in Britain, would probably still recognise the meaning.

It is probably more common to say 'get a move on' or some other idiomatic phrase.
