'Shake a leg' is quite an old fashioned idiom (it's the sort of thing my grandfather would say), I don't think many young people would use it but it might depend on which culture you are from. However, most people, certainly in Britain, would probably still recognise the meaning.
It is probably more common to say 'get a move on' or some other idiomatic phrase. |
