Dear Teachers:

I have a question about names.

I know if the son named after his father, his name should be sb. Jr., like Henry Jr. And Jr. read as junier. What I want to know is how to read III, IV, and more. Should they be read as third and fourth?

thanks
all the bests
H.H. Ke

Henry Jones III is read as Henry Jones the Third.
I don't think this convention exists outside the USA.

The convention does exist in Europe but is only really applied to members of the aristocracy.

In Britain, we rarely use junior or senior as a suffix to a name, unless in the most formal circumstances (i.e. courts of law, official documents, etc).
