Should (A) be corrected into (B)?
(A)
Durkin, who is expected to be joined Sunday at a news conference with House Republican Leader Tom Cross of Oswego, said the Burris matter needs an independent investigation because Republicans have no confidence the Democratic-led General Assembly would do a credible probe.
(B)

The original is not very good English.
Your suggestion is better, except that you should say, "on Sunday" rather than "with Sunday". |
