how to express "times"
two numbers: 3500 and 700
which one is right?
3500 is 5 times bigger than 700
or :
3500 is 4 times bigger than 700
3500 is 5 times as big as 700
3500 is 5 times the big of 700 (I know this one is incorrect, but how to express it ?)

Is there any other way to say it?

I feel confused. help!

The above two should be avoided because of the confusion between "5 times..." and "4 times...".

3500 is 5 times as big as 700 This is the right idea, but for a number/amount '5 times as much as' is better.

Thanks. but I want to know how to express it.
for example,if there are two houses(A and B), A is 350 square meters and B is 70 square meters. which one is correct ?
"A is 5 times bigger than B" ?or "A is 4 times bigger than B" ?

I already gave my opinion that "(4)(5) times bigger than' should not be used because the meaning is unclear.
I could say that 4 is correct, but another person might say 5 is correct.
The clear way, and thus the correct way, to express your example is to say 'A is 5 times as big as B'.
