I saw #1 in a English conversation book.

1.Does #1 mean #3?
2.Does #2 make sense?
3.What's the difference between #1 and #2?

#1 "Later", being a comparative, means later than now, the time of speaking.

#2 "Late" implies a time like 11pm or later.

#3 "The end of the evening" implies at the finish, maybe when you go home, or bedtime.
