Hello,

If I put a flower on/behind the ear, how to say that in English?

Or it is just "to put a flower on the ear"?

Any suitable verb to say this?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Jerry,

I don't think there's any special verb for this situation, but what I think most people would say is simply I put a flower behind my ear. Using on sounds weird...nobody would say that. Also, notice it's my ear, not the ear. In most situations, we tend to refer to parts of our body with possessive adjectives rather than articles. We may tend to use articles in expressions, but when we talk about parts of our own body, it's usually with possessive adjectives. There are exceptions, however (sb hit me in the nose...sb slapped me in the face).
