Dear teachers,
Can you tell me the differences between "contrary"&"opposite"?
e.g. Harry and his brother hold oppsite political views.
Can we use"contrary" here?

Yes, you can use contrary there. There is not much difference in meaning between the two words. Contrary and opposite are synonyms, which means they have similar meanings.
You could also say:
opposing political views
contrasting political views _________________
