Harry is a career counselor who works with professionals from various fields who feel unfulfilled. He often explores with people not what they want to do but what they need to do. Harry often finds people unprepared to answer his question. When he asks people what the really need to do, it strikes most of them as a question they either haven't thought about or gave up thinking about a long time ago. Harry suggests that his clients keep a journal because he believes that in their journal their true quest will come to light. "If you write down whatever comes to you. you will be able to see the patterns of your thoughts, discover things you didn't even know about yourself, and discover how you fit into your quest," he says.
Q: In the final sentence, what are the meanings of "how' and "fit into"? |

"...and discover how you fit into your quest," he says. |
Paraphrasing: You will discover the role that the real you, your true underlying personality, plays in your quest for a satisfying, fulfilling career. You will begin to understand the ways in which your true nature affects/belongs in/is a natural, integral part of this quest.
If that doesn't float your boat, then we can press our noses a bit more firmly to the bark as it were and say that how means the manner in which and fit into means to find an appropriate, natural place within the overall scheme of something.
