Hello!
To "take a spin" means to go for a ride, especially by driving or riding. It also means a casual ride, with no specific purpose or destination.
Examples:
"Would you like to take a spin on my new bike?" [Would you like to ride my new bike?]
"It's a beautiful day! Let's go for a spin in the country." [Let's just get out and drive around to enjoy this pretty day.]
"When I was growing up, my family often took a spin on Sunday afternoons. Sometimes we'd stop for ice cream." [When I was growing up, my family used to take drives on Sundays. We might or might not get ice cream.]
Does that help? |
