The heat-wave has also affected Tasmania, traditionally Australias coolest state, which reached 42.2C at Scamander ---- an all-time record for the island.
Regardless of the common sense, how can I infer from this sentence that "the island" refers to Tasmania OR Scamander?
Thanks.

Scamander is a town in Tasmania, which is an island. So it means the all-time record high for the island Tasmania was recorded at the town of Scamander. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
