Would anyone please paraphrase "turned on its side" in the following sentecne?
Video from the landing showed the plane bouncing at least twice on the runway and veering left as it turned on its side before bursting into flames.
Thanks. |

The plane's side is now touching the ground.
In other words, it means it rotated 90 degrees.
This picture shows a plane (almost) turned on its side.
