Hello!
The correct answer is running out. It means that there is not much time left--the alloted time is gone.
Examples:
"We ran out of time to get ready. The guests arrived before we had finished cleaning the house."
"The test was so hard that I ran out of time before I could finish."
"You had better hurry! You'll run out of time to turn in your assignment."
To "give out" means to stop.
Examples:
"The horse was so tired, it gave out before we could get back to the farm."
"Although she had trained for the marathon, her legs gave out and she had to quit the race."
"The car engine gave out during the steep hill. We had to wait for help."
Does this help? |
