What is difference between:
In 1990
During 1990
These are very similar, and you can usually use either one, although "during' is more common than "in".
Examples:
"During 1990, more people began to use computers."
"In 1990, more people began to use computers."
"During World War II, many cities were bombed."
"In World War II, many cities were bombed.'
On 1990
You can only use this if you have an exact date.
Examples:
"On July 4, 1776, the United States declared its independence."
"Christians always celebrate Christmas on December 25."
When do i need to put s behind this years for example 1990s
You do this when you are not talking about a specific date, but a general span of time.
Examples:
'During the 1960s, America and Russia raced to put a man on the moon."
"The 1980s were when Disco Dancing was popular."
"Electricity has been available since the late 1800s."
Does that help? |
