We call for more people to be aware of how serious the problem is.

should I omit "Of" here?

We usually say "sound asleep" Can I say "sleep sound" instead?

Thanks

The word of is optional here. You may omit it with no change in meaning. So, should you omit it? No. Can you omit it? Yes. Would I omit it? Excuse me while I go look for a coin to flip.

As a replacement for sound asleep? No, because they have completely different grammatical functions. Sound asleep is an adjective phrase; to sleep soundly is a verb phrase. So, it depends on what you want to say.

Hope this helps.
