When someone is a very good diver, you say that s/he "dive like a ..."?

Thank you,

Wow, that's a tough one. The cliches for other things just do not work for diving, and there is none for diving that I've ever heard.
He swims like a fish. She runs like a deer. He flies like a bird. She drinks like a fish.
You have to make your own up, I guess. I'm not too fond of "dives like a fish / dolphin," since those animals live in the water and do not routinely dive into the water from the land, although they may jump out of the water and right back into it.
Maybe compare the diver to a bird that dives:
He dives like a pelican. She dives like a swan.
Let us know what you come up with! Maybe you and others will have better suggestions than mine. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
